Following the launch of the Vivo X80 series (early 2022), enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the brand's next flagship, the X90. The latest report brings good news in this area. While waiting for the official word, the rumor revealed the brand's launch timeline, event schedule and key specifications.
According to Chinese tipster Assen, the manufacturer plans to skip the expected Vivo S16 series this year. The phone's predecessors, such as the S12 and S15, traditionally break cover around December. Skipping the S16, the Vivo X90 series event is next on the company's debut itinerary and is likely to take place by the end of December 2022.,
The leaker points out that at the end of the year, brands like Vivo and Oppo usually take a month-long interval to clear inventory before announcing any more flagships. The same will happen now. Before the first official appearance, the brand will clear the former stock and announce the X90 series in December.
Additionally, the hardware on the X90 phones leaps and bounds ahead of the X80. The new X Vivo mobiles are said to have bigger batteries, the latest generation SoC, improved charging speed, and cameras.
Reportedly, the X90 Pro Plus is likely to feature a curved AMOLED display, an unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, LPDDR5X RAM paired with next-gen UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5000mAh battery. Every smartphone manufacturer, these days wants a 1.0-inch camera sensor on their flagship devices. The same could happen with the X90 phones.
In addition to the larger primary sensor, the phone may include an industry-first 64MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
