Based on a typical launch timeframe, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23, and S23 Plus should be released between January and February 2023. However, leaks suggest that the successors will debut earlier in January 2023. As the launch approaches, the leaked details are getting more promising.
A report regarding the Samsung Galaxy S23 surfaced online a while ago, revealing a manifesto of the phone's exclusive features, including the camera, battery, display, processor, and memory configuration. The tipster who reported these specs has a decent track record with leaks. So these specs look pretty solid.
According to the tipper, the Galaxy S23 uses a 6.1” Dynamic AMOLED screen with a variable refresh rate of 120Hz and 1080p FHD+ resolution, which is the typical standard for vanilla S-series phones. However, the bezels are likely thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy S22.
In other features, the vanilla S23 can calibrate the battery with support for 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. Instead of the 3700mAh cell of the Galaxy S22, the successor will use a 3900mAh to increase the screen in time. The Korean giant is reportedly planning to make this upcoming lineup Qualcomm-specific.
Many reports confirm that the Exynos 2300 variant is out of the picture. For global customers, the brand will mount every latest S model from Samsung on Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. This is just speculation, so don't get your hopes up too soon.
The tipper also states that the base variant should feature a 50MP OIS camera as the primary, 12MP as the ultra-wide and 10MP sensor as the telephoto lens. The 10MP selfie camera used in the last three generations of Samsung flagships will finally be replaced by a 12MP sensor.
Samsung's rich features like DeX, reverse wireless charging, payment, stereo speaker, dual-axis haptics and IP68 rating should also make their way to the Galaxy S23. Its 256GB storage variant may limit the RAM to just 8GB. No word yet on the price.
