With the launch of the Vivo Y22 a few days ago, the BBK-owned brand is on its way to roll out the new successor to the Vivo Y21 in multiple countries one by one. According to reports from our inside sources, the Y22 could be launched in Pakistan by the end of September. The Y22 can be a good buy for those looking for a better budget phone.
The latest entry-level rival, the Vivo Y22, has a charming design, top-notch performance and a nice pair of cameras. The phone runs Android 12 x Fun touch OS 12 out of the box and comes with three beautiful finishes, Starlite Blue, Metaverse Green and Summer Cyan.
Equipped with IP54 water and dust protection, the Vivo Y22 features a sleek design with a flat edge and a slightly raised rear camera island. The island has a dual-camera housing for a 50MP Wide Alpha and a 2MP Macro Beta lens. The black accent module has a nice contrast to all three colors.
The upcoming Y22 has a selfie camera (8MP) with a notch that flows into the screen. With a resolution of 720p, the new Vivo Y boasts a decent-sized 6.55-inch IPS screen. The bezels feel a bit chunky due to the ~82.4% screen-to-body ratio.
For privacy and security, the Y22 is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connects up to a 5000mAh cell for power with standard 18W fast charging. For sweet prices, Vivo brings two storage options to the table; 128GB model coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB with 4GB RAM.
MediaTek's Helio G85 chipset powers the Funtouch OS on the Y22. It is a 12nm octa-core silicon that provides two powerful cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and six efficient cores at 1.8 GHz. With features like dual-SIM standby, expandable RAM and storage, remarkable Crystalline Mate back panel technology and an expected price tag of PKR 38,999, the Vivo Y22 will be a formidable contender.
