Asus has officially launched one of the most powerful gaming laptops of 2022 – the ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition. Although it looks similar to the standard 2022 Strix Scar 17, the special edition is powered by the latest and most powerful laptop processor – the Intel Core i9-12900HX with a TDP of up to 65W.
The notebook also comes with the most powerful notebook GPU - the RTX 3080 Ti with up to 175W of maximum TGP. In addition, the device is equipped with two SSDs in a RAID 0 (Gen4x4) array, offering a total of 4 TB of internal storage together with 32 GB of 4800 MHz RAM (16 GB x 2).
The rest of the features/specs of the ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition is in line with the regular ROG Strix Scar 17 with a 17.3-inch QHD display that offers a refresh rate of up to 240Hz and a 3ms response time. The lid of the ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition is made of aluminum and also features special art that is visible under UV light.
To keep the components cool, Asus uses Thermal Grizzly's Conductonaut Extreme Liquid Metal material on the CPU and GPU. The company claims the new thermal material helps maintain the temperature of these components by up to 15 degrees compared to traditional thermal paste.
ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition also has a keyboard with RGB support for individual keys and is rated for 20 million keystrokes. For sound, the device is equipped with two tweeters and two bass speakers with Smart Amp and there is also native Dolby Atmos support.
Price and availability
The ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition comes with an Intel Core i9-12900HX, RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU along with 32GB of RAM and 4TB of internal storage. The laptop will be available across the country starting today at a retail price of Rs. 6,59,990, making it one of the most expensive laptops Asus has ever launched in India.
