White House says U.S. states can’t directly purchase Covid vaccine under emergency use authorization

White House chief of staff Ron Klain said on Sunday it was unlikely that the United States would buy Covid-19 drugs directly from manufacturers, as some seemed to be doing, under the Food and Drug Administration's permission to use the drug.

"As a matter of law, this vaccine is subject to a warrant," Klain told NBC's "Meet the Press," while receiving specific information about the request. "I don't feel like that's unthinkable."

This was stated after the Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who asked Pfizer's CEO, Albert Bourla on Monday to allow the state to buy the drugs directly from the organization, is determined to make the resources work.

Pfizer revealed to Cuomo that he would not be able to do so under the terms of his official approval in December.

The organization said it was "mentally available", but "before we can sell it directly to the state government, HHS will have to approve the EUA-based proposal approved by Pfizer by the FDA."

The Department of Health and Human Services - then under Republican jurisdiction - accused Cuomo, a Democrat, of trying to "cut the front of the line to damage individual visibility."

Klain said he welcomes leaders who are "naturally disappointed" with the limited pace of inoculation to date.

Most of the controlled antibodies fall far behind speculation made under President Donald Trump, but the pace has gained momentum recently. President Joe Biden has promised that the U.S. It will control 100 million doses of antibody in its first 100 days of operation.

"We will increase the creation. We will increase the disintegration. We will work closely with the representatives of the leaders. We will get this policy from American society," Klain said.

The Biden movement aims to expand government work on the development and dissemination of Covid-19 policies.

T.J. Ducklo, representing the White House, before the state expulsion tried to buy direct antibodies, saying "we need to have a public approach to vaccination, and we must ensure that countries do not fight as they do with PPE, ventilators, and testing."

Ducklo did not immediately respond to an email on Sunday. The Department of Health and Human Services similarly did not immediately respond to requests for input.

Before Biden became operational, various states had asked Trump's Department of Health and Human Services to allow them to purchase vaccines directly from the manufacturer.

Lawmakers in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin - all Democrats - sent a letter on January 15 accusing the Trump administration of staggering the number of people who were fighting the virus.

"In the unlikely event that you do not even hesitate to provide us with such a supply, we encourage you to give us permission to purchase the vaccine directly so that we can distribute it," said leading leaders.

In any case, one of these provinces seems to be back on track since the launch of Biden on Wednesday.

Bobby Leddy, representing Michigan's Prime Minister Gretchen Whitmer, said in a statement given to CBS that "we are confident that President Joe Biden will have the appropriate public information and science program to assist our country in overcoming this emergency."
